POETRY
You are my first breath, my last, my future and my past.
There is no life without you.
I love, love
becoming enmeshed with another person
transmuting their energy and affection into fuel; galvanizing, eradicating every bit of fatigue within.
the hues now vibrant
their smile so radiant
empowering you to overcome any adversity.
but with love sometimes comes loss.
the scent of you still lingers and feeling become illegible. they say grief is the love that you have with no one to give it to
and little by little
it becomes more visible.
your voice that was so resounding,
that made my mind calm waters now voided.
I can’t recall the distinct pitch and tone
the memories still vivid now lacking audio.
your touch imprinted on my skin
and the love within
still present
ever so vocal.
crying out. to be near you once again.
the bed where I lay feels like an abyss
and our coffee now lacks the flavor it once had.

My love, since you set me free, there is no one here but death and me.
Nothingness, the sweet serenity, nothing but my death and me.
To finally see, a love meant for me, our eternal devotion,
my death and me.
For what is there to do, when I distrust the world,
yet you are my world.
and have chosen to trust me.
We were never meant to be strangers.
a sanctuary for two star crossed lovers
one was the moon
the other the sun
and like the moon and the sun
they will never meet
for the sun never see the gentle glow of the moon
and the moon never feels the warmth of the sun
aching to love in every universe
she was broken in many ways
as was he
if they only had known
they could be each other peace
but as destiny would have it
they will never know peace
nor what it means to be whole
so again
and again
they will return to their shared sanctuary
wondering in melancholy
destined to live
in solitude.
